Pair of SOWERBY & CO vases, late 19th century.
Opalescent pressure moulded glass.
With seal on the base.
Measurements: 10 x 6.5 x 6.5 cm.
Pair of vases from whose cylindrical body emerge swans of elegant workmanship. A background with rushes and a jagged upper profile embellish the composition.
In the late 19th century, the popular glass factory Sowerby & Co invested in the production of a large number of tumblers, decanters, sugar bowls, cream pitchers and other household items, and some of their wares were becoming iconic, particularly their butter dishes, which were elegantly decorated.
