VERY FINE WINCHESTER, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS, an outstanding example of superior craftsmanship, the two-board rectangular top with applied molded edge above two short drawers and three graduated full drawers, each cockbeaded, all flanked by fluted quarter columns and solid ends, raised on distinctive, tall ogee feet retaining original blocking. Yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. Retaining an early surface with rich color. Circa 1790. 37" H, 41" x 21" top.

Condition
Very good overall condition with minor scattered wear, cracks, and areas of discoloration. Minor old repair to proper left rear corner of top. Portions of facings for proper right front foot detached, but present. One backboard replaced, retaining original. Minor cracks to foot facings.Â
