Description
SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN WALNUT AND BURL ASH FOLK BANJO, a fine, small-sized example with the pot turned from a piece of burl, and with a small back opening, retaining possibly its original hide head secured within an applied iron bezel, early surface with rich color. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 33" LOA.
