19th Century Diamond-Head Banjo Clock - American, Early 19th Century. Walnut case. Reverse painted glass at bottom compartment door featuring a scene commemorating the Revolutionary War of British & American ships at sea with eagle crest at center. Mid-body column is also reverse painted with foliate garland. Curved brass "arms" at sides. Roman numerals on diamond-shaped dial, with enameled American Flag Shields. 8-Day movement with winding key. The clock is unsigned, but was likely made in Massachusetts, possibly by Willard. 34" h x 10" w x 4" d. Condition: Some small signs of age appropriate wear; a few small rough spots to wood casing.
