A late 18th century style Scottish basket-hilted broadsword of Black Watch type

The fullered blade, stepped at the forte, sheet metal basket hilt composed of flattened bars united by circular and triangular pierced junction plates, characteristic incised tall conical pommel, wire bound fishskin grip, 77.5cm blade.

Condition

Knock marks and scratches overall consistent with age
Probably fairly modern although the blade and fish skin grip could be 19th century.
It has been chemically blacked or blued overall
-some patches of rust
