STERLING: Two graduated sterling silver trays by Graff Washbourne & Dunn, New York, N.Y., (1899-1961, successors of Wood & Hughes), Belle Epoque style pattern patented in 1909, retailed by J. E. Caldwell & Co., both feature flared reticulated rims and feet with pierced vertical scrolls, foliate swags, floral urns in medallions and scrolling acanthus leaf shaped rim, larger tray with chased with floral scroll design from rim sides of inner well, smaller tray with less chased decoration and reduced size of rim and decoration, both with maker's mark (diamond-quatrefoil-diamond) on base over "patented 18-25-1909" and retailer's mark "J. E. Caldwell & Co.", larger also marked "Sterling 15 1/2 In" and "3143/47", while smaller is marked "Sterling 14 1/2 In" and "7477/46" along with "Sterling 9 In", "2988/47" and, both monogrammed, larger with wear consistent with age and use including numerous scattered scratches to center, smaller with excessive vertical/ starburst form scratches to center, larger: 15 3/4" diam. [43.3 ozt.], smaller: 14 1/2" diam. [25.7 ozt.][Total Weight of both: 69 ozt. tw.] *NOTE: Lots 87 to 93 matching pattern.
