STERLING: Fourteen sterling silver bread plates by Graff Washbourne & Dunn, New York, N.Y., (1899-1961, successors of Wood & Hughes), Belle Epoque style pattern patented in 1909, retailed by J. E. Caldwell & Co., features wide reticulated rim with pierced vertical scrolls, foliate swags, floral urns in medallions and scrolling acanthus leaf shaped rim, inner rim to center well chased with elaborate floral scroll design, thirteen plates with maker's mark (diamond-quatrefoil-diamond) and retailer's mark "J. E. Caldwell & Co." stamped on base, all fourteen additionally stamped "patented 18-25-1909", "Sterling 6 1/2 In", and "2925/47", all monogrammed at center and with wear consistent with age and use including scratches to center, 6 5/8" diam.
