The decorative plan on the reverse side features two roundels with wheels and shells- motifs associated with Japanese culture as early as the 10th-11th centuries. The background is intricate pattern of gingko leaves. The artist's stamp is on the exterior. Komai's Kyoto workshop is noted for exceptionally fine metalwork. Dimensions: H. 3 1/2" W. 2 1/2"
