Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation. Beverly Hill, California. Tobacco jar and cigarette holder in red tone Sumida pottery fabrication, circa Meiji period.Country of origin: Japan. Each piece has a drip glaze design on the surround in ebony tone with white and brown. There is an applied pottery design on each piece in tiger theme. Each piece is stamped on the bottom in Japanese characters byInoue Rayosai. The tobacco jar measures 5 inches tall by 3.25 inches in diameter, and the cigarette holder measures 3.25 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter.Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation.
