Description
Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation. Beverly Hill, California. Well bucket in red tone Sumida pottery fabrication, circa Meiji period. Country oforigin: Japan. This well bucket has a drip glaze design on the surround in ebony tone with white and blue, and the interior is in green glaze. There is an applied pottery design on the right side of a male Rakan figure. There is an applied porcelain plaque on the right side that is signed in Japanese characters by the artist Ishiguro Koko. This well bucket measures 2.75 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter. Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation.
