Native American, Midwestern to Southern United States, Archaic to Woodland, ca. 1000 BCE to 1000 CE. This is a fine collection of 7 projectile points, each hand-knapped from chert. The points come primarily from the Midwest of the United States, and each have their state of origin labeled on the surface. The largest is a Dickson Point and is associated with the Havana Hopewell culture that lived in the Midwest from 200 BCE to 400 CE. The white point with exaggerated serrations is possibly a Kirk Serrated point. A great collection that demonstrates the various types of projectile points that arose via the knapping and flaking technique. Size (Dickson point): 4" L x 1.75" W (10.2 cm x 4.4 cm)

Find sites written on the surfaces of all. Kirk serrated chert has remains of old adhesive residue from former display. Minor chips to peripheries and tips. Mineral deposits on the surfaces.
