Description
Included here are two works by "T. Bailey" and T. Hillman. The first, a harbor scene by "Bailey." Not a single artist, but a pseudonym used collectively by many selling tourists art in the Cape Ann area of Massachusetts throughout the early to mid 20th century. Oil on canvas. Artwork is in fair condition, with some scratches evident on the canvas. Its chief detriment is storage impressions along the edges of the canvas' wood construction. Not inspected out of frame. Artwork measures 19 1/2" wide and 15 1/2" high by sight. Wooden frame exhibits sizable dings and nicks. Frame measures 24 1/4" wide, 20 1/4" high and 1 3/4" deep. Next, Boats at Lowtide. Believed the work of T. Hillman (or Hillmann). Signed and dated 1907 on work. Oil on canvas. Artwork measures 17 1/2" wide and 11 1/2" high by sight and is in fair condition. There are two sizable storage impressions in the upper right corner of the painting where pigment was transferred from being pressed against another work. Decorative wooden frame measures approximately 22" wide, 16" high and 2 1/2" deep and exhibits dings, scuffs and scratches throughout.
