Description
An A. H. Waters & Co., Millbury, MA converted flintlock, percussion .54 calibre pistol having JCS (John C Stebbins) on the barrel. Stebbins only worked at Waters in 1837 so we assume this is when the gun was possibly converted from flintlock to percussion. The lockplate is also stamped "Watters" and there are no other date stamps on the barrel. The trigger guard is iron. The trigger and percussion hammer are fully functional.
Condition
Good condition commensurate with age having significant pitting around percussion nipple and hammer and very minor pitting in other areas with surface rust throughout. Bore shows some rust and pitting. The nipple show wear. There is a small split in the grip behind the lockplate.
