STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED ROMANTIC MOTIF CERAMIC PLATTERS, LOT OF TWO, each having brown/sepia transfer scenes, comprising one featuring "CAROLINA", as printed to underside, depicting a child riding a large dog and two exotic birds perched to an urn behind, and one featuring Oriental Scenery #2 depicting two sailing vessels with soldiers and neoclassical structures. Marks to underside include printed urn with "R HALL" to base and impressed "HALL", "T. MAYER / STOKE", and "16". Ralph Hall, Tunstall; Thomas Mayer, Stoke, England. Second quarter 19th century. 16 3/4" x 14 1/4" and 17 1/4" x 14 3/8".

Condition
Mostly undamaged, except "Carolina" example having minor flake to rim edge, Oriental example with moderate crazing, and each having some minor usage wear.Â
