Description
The Beatles Pete Best Signed 8" x 10" Black and White Photograph W/COA - This 8" x 10" black and white photo of the original Beatles group is signed by original drummer Pete Best, who is often referred to as "The 5th Beatle". Photos of the original band are seldom seen since they were together just briefly before their worldwide success. Best joined the group in 1960 but was fired in 1962 immediately prior to their initial success and was replaced by Ringo Starr. Originally known as The Quarrymen, they played some of their first concerts at the Casbah Coffee Club in Liverpool. This was owned by Best's mother and he was invited to join the group in August, 1960, touring with them in Hamburg, Germany. This rare photo is dedicated "To Alison" and shows Best with John Lennon, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, along with Stu Sutcliffe, the original bass guitarist. Sutcliffe, a close friend of Lennon, left the band in 1960 after several months to study art and sadly passed away at the age of 22 from brain hemorrhage. The photo comes with a certificate of authenticity from an AFTAL approved dealer.
