Mike Ottens (Northwest Coast, ca. 20th century CE). Totem Pole. Painted wood sculpture, 1980. Signed with date on underside of base. A handsome hand-carved wood totem pole presenting with the classic imagery of stacked zoomorphs with a spread-winged eagle balancing atop the head of a beaver. Note how the abstract representations of the animals grant the piece with a lovely, tribal aesthetic, typical of the North West Coast. Size: 10.8" W x 18" H (27.4 cm x 45.7 cm)
Provenance: private Alamo, California, USA collection, before 2000; ex-Leon Lafortune estate, Vancouver, BC, Canada

Condition
Signed with date on underside of base. Some light surface wear, and adhesive on wings visible. Minor chipping to tips of owl's wings. Otherwise, intact and excellent with good pigments.
