Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Third Mesa, Hopi Pueblo, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A lengthy hand-woven fringed sash made from red, white, and blue yarn, with warp float patterning. Belts and sashes were often worn in ceremonial contexts, such as kachina dances, by both men and women, and later pieces, such as this, were produced for sale. Size: 114" L x 3" W (289.6 cm x 7.6 cm)
