Description
Central to South America, Mexico to Argentina, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A handsome pair of iron riding rowel spurs with a nickel-brass plating, the large, spiked rowels jangle melodically when they move, reminiscent of a delicate windchime. The arms have strap holes for securing these spurs to the boots of a charro or gaucho cowboy. Horse and cattle owners were generally a wealthy, higher class of society; the noise their elaborate spurs made as they rode and walked literally would announce their presence. Size: 8.5" L x 3.75" W (21.6 cm x 9.5 cm)
