Description
South America, Argentina or Uruguay, Pampas region, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A fine pair of high quality 83% silver riding spurs with a pair of U-shaped bands and incised linear adornment. At the base of the swan neck are integral loops for a chain or leather strap, and the neck curves up and outward, each fitted with spinning rowel spikes that are set horizontally in the housing. At the tip of each arm are attachment buttons for additional heel straps. Size: 6.5" L x 3.5" W (16.5 cm x 8.9 cm); silver quality: 83%; weight: 271.8 grams
