Description
This is a magnificent presentation of the map of Elba on top, a view of Porto Ferrajo on the bottom and in the center a portrait of Napoleon portrait and his signature. The Porto Ferrajo view shows heavy seas with ships and boats venturing out. Napoleaon Bonaparte was exiled by the Allied Powers to the small island of Elba off the Tuscan (Italy) coast in April, 1814. He was allowed to retain the title "Emperor", and to rule the island and its 12,000 inhabitants. Subsequently he escaped, returned to France and was again exiled, but the second time to a less hospitable and more remote island of St. Helena in the middle of the south Atlantic in late 1815.
