Argye Mary Briggs was an author who wrote about the lives of ordinary people in the prairies of the American Midwest. She lived most of her life in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. "This, My Brother" (1950) is her second book. Her first book, "Root Out of Dry Ground" (1948) is a Winner of the Eerdmans Fiction Award. "This, My Brother" follows the main protagonist from his boyhood to being a grandfather. "It takes a long time for his eyes to be opened to racism..."
