American Neo-Renaissance Carved Mahogany Slant-Front Desk
fourth quarter 19th century, attributed to R. J. Horner, New York, profusely carved, the lid opening to a fitted interior above a base with five drawers supported by seated, winged griffins, mounted to an incurved, open platform base.

Condition
In as found condition. Old repair to the drop lid where the right hinge is attached. Numerous chips and losses along the back edge of the writing deck. Two scratches on the interior side wall. Retains its original finish. Has a spring-loaded secret drawer above the drop lid with a release button on the inside. Scattered imperfections to the surface on the top of the desk.
