Description
Southwestern United States or Mexico, ca. early 20th century CE. An antique wood child sized shoe form covered with dozens of brass milagros (miracles), religious folk charms that are traditionally used for healing purposes and as votive offerings in Mexico and other places with Spanish Colonial / Catholic influence. This shoe form may have been used as a devotional piece for a child suffering from a foot / walking related illness, the milagros of various interesting forms -praying hands, sheep, Virgin Mary, cars, keys, sacred hearts, birds, and other body parts- are nailed across the top. Size: 6" L x 2.25" W x 2.5" H (15.2 cm x 5.7 cm x 6.4 cm)

Patina and russet oxidation on brass and iron nails. Minor wear and abrasions to wood sole. Some chips and abrasions to wood around the milagro charms. Overall great antique condition.
