An large and impressive artisan made antique wood lidded chest casket box. Large rectangular form body with light cream ivory white exterior hand decorated in the Penwork style painted panels depicting naturalistic scenes of wild game animals, hunter figure with hunting dog, pomegranates, wreaths, scrolling and flourish patterns, cherub putti faces, rosettes, and other designs, with the year 1915 to side panel with rabbit and monogrammed scroll design, and 1916 to back panel. Generous interior storage compartment with varnished sides and removable six compartment tray, suitable for jewelry, correspondence, and other utilities. Set upon an architectural style base and surmounting four ball feet. Working front lock with original key. No apparent makers mark.

Condition: Good to fair overall condition, having age related surface wear, areas of paint enamel loss, and split to lid top and to bottom panel. Estate fresh to the market.
