A French village landscape painted in the artist's Post Impressionist School style, depicting a female figure tending a garden, with trees, rustic chateaux and architectural elements, and other forms. Artist signature to lower left P MADELINE. Original antique PARIS EXPOSITION and LIEGE SALON exhibition labels, with original antique hand written gallery tag showing artist name and work title affixed to verso. The artist exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon (Academie des Beaux Arts). Presented with a fabric border in an ornate gilt frame. Comes with a photo copy of Hilde Gerst Gallery New York appraisal receipt from 1989.
