Description
18th century hand painted fan. Musicians in a park, after Watteau, seated woman on verso. Unsigned. Silvered carved mother-of-pearl sticks and guards with gilt putti decoration. Circa 1730. Fan approximately 11 1/2"H x 19 1/2"W. Stick on left side cracked and partially missing, several sticks detached from fan at top, some staining and discoloration, creasing and minor losses at pleats, minor tears at pleats along top, some paint loss on verso, fan separating from guard on right side with paint loss and creasing.
