Description
Large and impressive c. 1899 photograph of the Siverd Post of the Grand Army of the Republic, formerly located in Winfield, Kansas. The photograph itself depicts the aging veterans of the Siverd Post, which was named after a local constable who served with the 1st Ohio Cavalry during the Civil War. Dozens of men clad in their neatest suits pose of the camera, each one identified with a brief synopsis of their service history. Despite their somewhat remote location, the veterans hail from all over, including Michigan, New York, and even Vermont.

A large American flag hangs behind the men, as does a portrait of the post’s namesake. Both the photograph and its mount are in excellent condition.
