Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, Protoclassic Period, ca. 500 to 100 BCE. A hand-built pottery 'pretty lady' figure, the flattened, nude body and head are painted with red slip. Her intriguingly broad head bears impressed ovoid eyes, and her headdress lappets fall over her shoulders. Size: 1.5" W x 4" H (3.8 cm x 10.2 cm); 4.75" H (12.1 cm) on included custom stand.
