Description: This lot includes an early antique oil on canvas painting by "W. Hoff" titled "The Return". The painting features a diner party with 2 people in embrace as if one is being welcomed home. The painting if of very high quality and appears to date to the early 19th century but could be earlier. Signed on the back of the canvas frame "No. 12" "5119" "The Return" and W. Hoff's signature. There is also an old label transcribing the artist and artwork title.

Condition: The painting has been in storage for over 40 years in our clients estate. Painting is dark and would benefit from a professional cleaning. Period frame is in good condition with limited losses, but dirty.

Measurements: 44"L x 36"W

All of the items in this auction are located at our Oakville CT gallery. Pickup at our gallery will be done BY APPOINTMENT only Monday-Friday 10am to 3pm (Saturday pickup is avalable on 7/15). All items must be picked up by Friday July 21 2023. Any items picked up after 7/21/2023 will be subject to storage fees of $5 per day per lot unless other arrangements have been made with the auctioneer.
