Willem Sewel was a 17th-century Dutch Quaker who is most-known for his historical perspective on the Quakers. This work was a collection of essays and reports over the course of 25 years that was finally published in 1717. This book gives Sewels first-hand accounts with important Quaker leaders including such as William Penn and George Fox. Other curious topics include descriptions of Turks and Algerian pirates, naval excursions of Thomas Lurting, and William Penns establishment of Pennsylvania.
This 1799 two-volume edition was published in London by James Phillips.
