A Japanese scroll painting of young girl
19th-20th century
Watercolor and ink on silk; with one seal. Sold with associated scroll box.
H: 33 3/8, W: 14 in.
H: 84.77, W: 35.56 cm.
Provenance: Private collection, Bethesda, Maryland. Inherited by descent from his father, who lived overseas in China (Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei) for 25 years and served as an executive for Air America, associated with the Flying Tigers and Civil Air Transport (CAT). He acquired much of his collection during this period and continued collecting from Sotheby‘s Park Bernet after 1972 when he returned to the United States. The box for this scroll includes two different lot tags from Sotheby's Parke Bernet.
