Item Details
Description
Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st to early 2nd century CE. A slender, free-blown, and semi-translucent glass vessel of a blue-green hue. The vessel is defined by a slight concave base and rough pontil scar, a thick lower body which gently tapers to a lightly-indented neck base, a thin tubular neck, and an in-folded rim. Thin layers of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence envelop the exterior surfaces and provide an elegant complementarity to the soft turquoise color of the glass. Size: 1.2" W x 5.375" H (3 cm x 13.7 cm).
