Description
ENGLISH SPATTERWARE CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF 15, including three eagle transfer-printed examples including a cup and saucer set with purple-sponged decoration and one cup with blue-sponged decoration, two cup and saucer sets including one with blue-sponged decoration and one with purple-sponged rim and bull's eye decoration, and three 7 3/4" D plates with polychrome hand-painted pomegranate and blue-sponged decoration with an illegible impressed mark to underside. Together with a redware pitcher, possibly Mexican, with copper- and white-slip trailed decoration. Sixteen (16) pieces total. 19th century. 7 7/8" HOA.Â

Condition
Red-sponged bowl, purple-sponged cup and saucer, and blue-sponged cup undamaged; purple-sponged eagle cup mostly undamaged except having a minute rim flake; remaining having minor to moderate imperfections including stapled repairs, chips, flakes and/or hairlines.
