Description
STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC BOWL, featuring the Arms of Maryland depicting Justice holding scales, a sword, and an olive branch, with "INDUSTRY THE MEANS / PLENTY THE RESULT" printed to ribbon, and "MARYLAND" below, having molded gadroon-style rim. Marks include impressed American eagle with shield mark encircled by "T MAYER STOKE STAFFORDSHIRE / WARRANTED" and printed "6" or "9" to underside. Thomas Mayer, Stoke, England. 1826-1838. 4 1/2" H, 13 3/8" D rim.

Condition
Excellent visual condition, having some areas of professional restoration including to foot and two areas on rim, a minor very faint rim hairline, and some expected scattered wear including to interior glaze.
