Description
NORTHEASTERN DECORATED STONEWARE CROCKS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each having wide-mouth cylindrical form, a flat-top rounded rim, incised shoulder ring, and Albany-slip glazed interior, comprising an approximately one-gallon capacity example with applied arched handles and a "1/2" gallon capacity mark example. Each featuring cobalt slip-trailed decoration including one with foliate design to front and one with a horizontal design encircling the shoulder. Circa 1875. 7 5/8" HOA, 8" DOA.

Condition
One gallon example undamaged; "1/2" gallon example having firing separation to rim with associated approximately 2 1/2" LÂ hairline, probably as made, and moderate wear to rim.Â
