Description
DESCRIPTION: Antique mantel clock featuring a movement mounted in a gilt bronze housing crowned with a dove perched on a ribbon. Housing rests atop a marble plinth flanked by Greek sphinxes within balustrades atop a marble platform upheld by semi-nude figural columns. Base is fashioned of marble, mounted on six gilt bronze feet, and is adorned with a gilt bronze allegorical frieze at the obverse depicting puttos playing with various instruments and tools. Finished with a pineapple finial at the center of base. Movement is marked "H&F Paris" and "1876". Untested; no pendulum, no key.
