Description
Seven (7) decorative accessories, including a gilt-mounted horn cornucopia, miniature paintings, quill boxes, and a miniature grandfather clock. 1st item: Gilt-mounted horn cornucopia with foliate and lion mask hardware raised upon a tiered, round base with lamb's tongue rim. 20 3/8" H x 18 1/2" W x 6 5/8" D. Continental, 19th century. 2nd item: Portrait miniature on metal after Ferdinand Bol (Netherlands, 1616-1680) Portrait of Elisabeth Bas originally executed in the 1640s with subject depicted seated wearing an embroidered green dress with large round white collar and white Dutch bonnet holding a lace handkerchief. Unframed. 5 3/8" H x 3 5/8" W. Continental, 19th century. Note: Elisabeth Bas was a prominent Dutch businesswoman whose portrait by Bol was commissioned by her granddaughter Maria Rey. The original is held within the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam collection. 3rd item: Miniature watercolor on paper painting depicting three couples and another woman in early 19th-century dress upon a sunny street with well-manicured trees and building facades in the background beneath a blue sky. Signed "E. Wagner." lower right. Printed label with provenance information, en verso. Housed under glass in a plain giltwood frame. Sight: 4 1/8" H x 3 1/8" W. Framed: 5 5/8" H x 4 3/4" W. European, 19th century. 4th item: Miniature circular oil on tin still life painting depicting a dense bouquet within a gilt glass vase upon a wooden surface. Old Alfred Davis Fine Art Dealer label, en verso. Housed in a shallow shadow wooden frame with gilt brass sight edge. Sight (circular): 3" dia. Framed: 5 7/8" H x 5 1/4" W. English, late 19th/early 20 century. 5th-6th items: Two (2) Anglo-Indian porcupine quill and ebonized wood inlaid boxes with slide lids; larger example having a felt-lined base. 2" H x 7" W x 4" D and 1 3/4" H x 4 3/4" W x 3 1/2" D. 20th century. Note: A copy of the original receipt for one of these boxes is available to the winning bidder. 7th item: Miniature mahogany long case grandfather clock, Neoclassical style, with triangular pediment, foliate painted accents, and enameled dial with Arabic numerals over a painted panel flanked by two columns all on a tiered base. 11 5/8" H x 4 3/4" W x 3 1/8" D. English, 19th century.

Condition
1st item: Slight shrinkage/warping of horn commensurate with age. Minor scattered areas of oxidation. 2nd item: Slight craquelure throughout; scattered minor abraisions/wear to surface particularly to edges. 3rd item: Toning to paper; minute inclusion beneath glass. Frame with scattered losses to gilt. 4th item: Craquelure throughout; minor wear to edges. Frame with denting to gilt brass sight edge. 5th-6th items: Scattered minor warping to wood. Larger example with scattered minor losses to hole plugs and one quill (included). 7th item: Scattered wear and losses to decorative elements; wear to paint. One decorative element replaced with unpainted corner. Not functioning at time of inspection.
