Description
Enameled badge, 2 in. dia., a metal national eagle at the top with a swastika on its chest and the five Olympic rings beneath, all on a white field. The green rim of the badge reads ‘XI. OLYMPIADE BERLIN 1936 KAMPFRICHTER’ in gold lettering. The color of the rim for these badges was dependent on which category the judge was evaluating, unfortunately we do not know which category was represented by the color green. The pinback badge is marked ‘GES. GESCH’ on the reverse and maker marked ‘BC’ below. Fine. SOLD WITH: enameled Stahlhelm membership badge, 1 in. dia., showing a silvered alloy German helmet in profile, engraved with the black enamel legend 'Der Stahlhelm', applied to a black enamel base, which bears oak leaves and the date '1929'. The reverse bears the 'STH' Stahlhelm insignia, and is engraved: 'BAY. 5 7.5.29'. Very good.
