Maske der "bwadi ba kifwebe" genannten Gesellschaft.

Solche Masken verkörperten ein mythologisches Geistwesen, wurden mit einem geflochtenen Kostüm und einem langen Bart aus Raphia ergänzt und tanzten an verschiedenen Zeremonien, um die gesellschaftliche Ordnung im Dorf zu sichern.

Der Begriff "kifwebe" wird heute mit „Maske“ gleichgesetzt, bedeutete aber früher „halte den Tod fern“. Die Masken sollten zu dieser Zeit vor Krankheit und Unfällen schützten.
