Helmut (1931-2021) und Marianne Zimmer, Zürich.
Die agbogho-mmwo-Mädchengeistmaske ist die Verkörperung der idealen weiblich-jugendlichen Schönheit, die das Gleichgewicht von inneren und äusseren Werten voraussetzt.
Sie wurde von Männern vor und nach der Anbauzeit für Fruchtbarkeit und gute Ernte getanzt. Die Akteure versuchten dabei, die vorbildlichen Eigenschaften unverheirateter Mädchen möglichst grazil auszudrücken, was mitunter zur köstlichen Unterhaltung des Publikums beitrug.
