Description
From the first flight to New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. on May 15, 1918. Addressed to steel magnate and director of the Emergency Fleet Corporation Charles M. Schwab (1862-1939). Envelope cut open at top, along with receipt stamp for 4:00pm the same day. This envelope was on the first north-to-south and first overall successful flight to complete the route, with the south-to-north flight the same day resulting in a hard landing and damaged plane shortly after takeoff.
