Description
This rare poster was created for the 1910 World's Fair, held in Brussels, Belgium. It highlights the 27th annual dog show, which includes dogs of all breeds. It is a wonderful example of Art Nouveau poster art by the collected artist, Georges Gaudy (1872-1940). The 1910 Exposition Universelle de Bruxelles was held from April - November, 1910, but this special dog show was only on view May 21 - 23, 1910. Art by Monet, Rodin, Renoir, and Matisse were on view at the Fair.Georges Gaudy was a Belgian artist and champion cyclist. Most of his poster designs feature or directly advertise bicycles, so this poster is a particular standout in his oeuvre. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
