Gertrude Homan (1856-1905) was an American painter known for her landscapes and portraits. Homan studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts before establishing herself as a professional artist. Her paintings are characterized by their attention to detail and their sense of realism. Homan was particularly interested in the effects of light and color on the landscape, and her work often reflected a deep appreciation for the natural world. She was also known for her portraits, which depicted her subjects with a sense of intimacy and sensitivity.
