Description
The lot features an original pottery polychrome painted owl effigy from the Zuni Pueblo Native American Indians dating to circa 1900-1930's. The piece shows an owl bird shape with dark brown on white paint having additional features in red / brown. The bird shows a beak with mouth opening to the hollow center, raised eyes, ears, wings and a tail. The piece shows some slight paint loss, with beak end being gone and fixed flat as well as chip on one wing which was painted over, but displays beautifully for its early age. Bottom is marked Zuni and 5.00. Measures 5.25"H by 5"W by 4"D. Provenance: A fine Bozeman, Montana collection.
