Description

A .J. RUSSELL, “Trestle Work, Promontory Point.” 6 x 8 inch albumen print mounted on a 9 1/8 X 12 inch mount with letterpress title. From Sun Pictures of Rocky Mountain Scenery, 1868 – 70. This is just before Promontory Point was the scene of the Golden Spike where the Union Pacific tracks joined those from the Central Pacific. This is a great view that shows landscape features as well as work on the Railroad Line. The image is fine but there is waving on the mount.
