Mongolian ornamental vase, tibor type. Made in silver, it is richly decorated with inlaid gemstones in the form of flowers with coral petals and turquoise pistils, as well as fretwork in lapis lazuli cabochons and zoomorphic carvings in jade representing birds and felines. The silver, delicately worked in relief, takes the form of two Fu dogs on the sides, from whose jaws hang jade rings that serve as handles. The bird crowning the lid seems to be inspired by the griffins, a mythological creature of Persian origin that underwent cultural transformations and syncretisms in contact with Asian cultures.
