Winer scene with horse being brought hay. 15" x 22" framed. Agostini, Sergio (Rome, 1921 - Piombino, Livorno, Italy, 2005) Sergio Agostini: An Italian painter, printmaker and designer, Sergio Agostini studied art and architecture at the Accademia delle Belle Arti, Rome. As a young man he served in the Italian army during World War Two. At that time he painted both portraits and military scenes. After the war he exhibited his art in both Rome and Florence. International recognition came in 1961 when Agostini was commissioned by the government of Germany to create paintings, many of which were used as posters in national campaigns. After that date Sergio Agostini participated in major art exhibitions in Venice, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Mexico City, Sydney, Melbourne and London. Besides living and working in Italy, Agostini spent lengthy periods of time in both Australia and San Francisco. He also designed sets and costumes for several films.
