Ancient Egyptian Glazed Faience Bes Kohl Bottle Late Period. Ca. 700 - 30 B.C. Size 1 7/8 inch high. Pale blue glazed faience pottery bottle, with a short neck, flat rim and tiny applied loop handle. Decorated with a high relief face of Bes, having a curly full beard, protruding tongue, deeply set eyes and arched brows. Some scattered surface deposits. Missing approximately one half of rim, scattered glaze wear, otherwise intact. Reference: Les Objects de Toilette Egyptiens au Musee du Louvre 160-173 (all Bes).
