Description
A vintage 1930's-40's era, 980 silver and amethyst pill box. A 980-purity silver was used early by the Mexican Silversmiths, but was quickly changed to the less expensive "sterling" or 920 purity content. This box is unsigned, but of a quality suggesting it came from one of the better early Taxco silver shops (ie. Fred Davis, Spratling, Hector Aguilar, etc.),in a raised "coffin" lid design with a small amethyst cabochon on top, box closes tight, hinges are tight, size 1 in. x 7/8 in. x 1/2 in., very good condition.
