Letters of Madame de Sevigne to Her Daughter and Her Friends, complete set of two volumes, with introduction by Richard Aldington, published by Brentanos, New York, 1927, with illustrations, both volumes have an exlibris of Ruth and Samuel Gottesman on the flyleaf. Gottesman is an American-Jewish philanthropic dynasty. The History of the Reign of the Emperor Charles the Fifth by William Robertson, in three volumes, vol. I, published by J.B. Lippincott and Co., 1864. The American Conflict, A History of The Great Rebellion in the United States of America, 1776-1862, by Horace Greeley, vol. I, published by O.D. Case and Company, 1864. Godeys Ladys Book, Vol. 42, 1851, there is a handwritten poem titled To My Valentine on the cover. Godeys Ladys Book was an American womens magazine that was published in Philadelphia from 1830 to 1878. It was the most widely circulated magazine in the period before the Civil War, each issue contained poetry, articles, and engravings created by prominent writers and other artists of the time.
